Rockingham County Breweries and Hard Cidery
Showalter’s Orchard and Old Hill Cider
17768 Honeyville Road | Timberville, VA 22853 | 540-896-7582
The story of Old Hill Cider began in the early 1900’s when Apple Trees were planted on what has been known as Showalter’s Orchard since 1965. Both raised on farms in Rockingham County, owners Shannon and Sarah Showalter acquired the Orchard from Shannon’s father in 2002. Their first production year of hard cider was in 2011 and sales began in May 2012. Based in Timberville, Old Hill Cider holds a distinct title as the Shenandoah Valley’s first such cidery. The Showalter family grows more than 25 varieties of apples, several types of peaches as well as assorted vegetables which are sold in their farm store.
