While you can likely find a course anywhere you travel, it’s not just anywhere you can find well-maintained courses nestled among the mountains. Here in Rockingham County, we’re lucky enough to have golfing options throughout the area for players at any level, even the putt putt variety.
Golf at Massanutten

Not only does the Massanutten Resort offer two pristine 18-hole courses nestled throughout the mountainside, Mountain Greens and Woodstone Meadows, the resort also offers a number of ways to improve your game including a driving range and golf lessons.
Heritage Oaks Golf Course

This challenging and scenic course offers a wide variety of holes including links-style holes as well as traditional, tree-lined holes. Golfers of all abilities will enjoy playing this par 70 course, as it offers four sets of tees on each hole (distances ranging from 4,500 yards to 6,325 yards). Lessons are available as well as pro-shop offerings including club fitting and repair.
Lakeview Golf Course

This well-maintained public Shenandoah Valley course is open year-round, offering up 36 holes for players at all levels. In addition to the course itself, the facility also features a driving range, putting and chipping greens and a pro shop.
Mulligan’s Golf Center & Miniature Golf

Mulligan’s Golf Center is a practice facility and pro shop that provides an inviting and fun environment for golfers of all ages. Hit a bucket of balls, or check out MGC’s miniature 18-hole golf course with challenging holes and detailed landscapes.

Rated 4 1/2 stars by Golf Digest for two years, this newer public 18-hole course is in the Heart of the Shenandoah Valley. Located close to Massanutten Resort and the City of Harrisonburg, Packsaddle Ridge Golf Club will challenge all types of golfers and overload your senses with natural beauty.
It’s not often you can play in a beautiful setting at no charge, but this course offers exactly that. This 9-hole course winds along the North River, so be sure to get there early for a tee time at this first-come, first-serve course.
