Within the seven small towns and other communities in Rockingham County you are certain to find numerous unique mom-and-pop small businesses to suit.

Bridgewater

In Bridgewater be sure to check out the variety of dining options such as the Cracked Pillar Restaurant and Bar. Located in one of the oldest structures on the Northern end of the town the home originally served as a private residence and once served as a private boarding school for girls.

Broadway

In the town of Broadway, stop by The Village Arts Center to find the work of local artists and explore your own creative talents and artistic skills.

Dayton

The Town of Dayton offers an abundance of goods at the Dayton Market located conveniently along Route 42. With 20 shops ranging from kitchenware, to toys, to homemade baked goods, and so much more, there is something for the entire family.

Elkton

The Town of Elkton also offers numerous small art studios as well as one of the valley's best-kept secrets, the Blue Elk Coffee Company and Roastery. With views of the railroad tracks and historic downtown Elkton, one is sure to take a step back in time with the sights and sounds of the downtown.

Grottoes

The Town of Grottoes is located along the border with Augusta County and offers the only public Cavern in the county. Grand Caverns offers tours throughout the year as well as special 2-hour caving expeditions.

Mt. Crawford

Mt. Crawford is the smallest incorporated town in Rockingham County. The quaint main street offers a step back in time with historic homes and buildings along Route 11 as well as the area's only local dairy processing and bottling facility, the Mt. Crawford Creamery.

Timberville

Timberville is located in the Northern end of Rockingham County bordering Shenandoah County. The area is filled with orchards and is home to the county's only hard cidery. Showalter's Orchard and Old Hill Cider are just a short leisurely drive from the downtown area.
